Shower Seat
My old shower seat collapsed recently while I was on it. Luckily I was able to catch myself before I got hurt. The screws had come loose. So I tightened them and sat on it. Again, it collapsed. Seems the screw threads are shot. I contacted the manufacturer to see what they would recommend. They offered me a replacement for a reduced price, but the Amazon reviews of that current product were unsatisfactory and its wider base just didn’t fit well in my tub. I have also recommended that the manufacturer of the chair that became unsteady with the loosening screws to add a crossbar accessory for their existing models.
So I kept looking on Amazon, reading the reviews. I did not like the thumb screws sticking out on the outside of the legs another model as it may become a problem scratching my legs. Some had crossbars nearer the base of the legs and I didn’t choose that one because I like keeping a foot soaking small basin under my chair. I didn’t choose one with a back as I felt that might limit my mobility to grab a safety bar. I chose this one because it has a more upright base and it fits better in my tub than the prior one and it came with crossbars with room under it for my basin. I ordered 2 so my guest bathroom would have one also. They were easy to put together needing only a screwdriver. It’s a good idea to tighten the screws every now and then, just to be on the safe side.
