Epsom Salts & Vick’s VaporRub

Most will benefit from this post, but especially those with Diabetes. Before bedtime, put a cup of Epsom Salt in Very Warm bathwater to cover the top of your toes when sitting in the tub and just soak until the water is cool (or put a few TBSP in a small tub for just a quick foot soak). This is a SOAK – Don’t use SOAP. Save the water and use to water your plants, bushes, shrubs, garden. (I refill those plastic jugs that cat litter comes in). I don’t know about you, but my shoes fit tighter towards evening and after soaking them in Epsom Salts, my shoes fit again. Some say it’s the Magnesium being absorbed into the skin. Some say it’s the Sulfates pulling out toxins from the skin. I cannot find a clinical study proving either, but I can tell you this: “It Works for me.” I like Dr. Teal’s Brand with Lavender.

Next, give your toes, feet, heels, a good massage with both hands with a generous amount of Vick’s VapoRub. Made of eucalyptus oil, menthol, camphor, nutmeg oil, cedarleaf oil, and other calming agents, Vick’s VapoRub can treat a variety of problems. Essential Oils are all the “new thing ” these days…but this “old thing” – Vick’s VapoRub – has been around for years. Get the bigger jars…it’s a better bang for the buck.

There you go, keep walking!
